You will be instrumental in crafting the future success of our Technology Services product portfolio. You'll partner and report directly to the Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO). You'll assist in shaping and driving the future success of the company as the category leader in the market. You will work closely with our senior leadership to define product strategy, build roadmaps, and lead our product development efforts around key aspects of the F5 Code to Customer Roadmap.

You will build, lead, and mentor a team of senior product managers and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes Business Leaders, Software Engineers, UX Designers, and Data Scientists. This is an amazing opportunity to encourage a team that drives everything that our customers and employees see and use every day.

You will seek to manage and forecast the critical metrics of software applications and products in the portfolio of the organization. You will help to guide individual product managers and teams to ensure products are operating at extraordinary levels. You will figure out priorities for engineering investments, lead cultural change and empower leadership at all levels to build a culture that allows collaboration and innovation to thrive. You will employ Lean Startup and Agile practices to continuously deliver value, in frequent, incremental releases.

Showcase your mastery of market trends, customer needs, and technology insights! As the spokesperson for a product portfolio, show us your validated leadership, negotiation, and presentations skills. Be capable of communicating at the executive level with customers and build, develop and mentor highly collaborative teams. Empower them with decision making!

What You'll Do

  • Understand our strategic and bold position and deliver Technology Services products that help transform the industry and our Code to Customer roadmap.
  • Create the product portfolio vision and strategy in collaboration with key team members across the enterprise.
  • Lead Product Management team to successfully implement product and program strategy.
  • Articulate a clear high-reaching technology and product strategy for our Technology Services customers.
  • Establish measurable goals, objectives, and scorecards to ensure high performance.
  • Cultivate a product culture that understands the importance of rapid testing, learning and iterative delivery.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop others to advance skills sets and assist them to achieve their career goals.
  • Empower people through active feedback and continuous improvement practices.
  • Challenge conventional thinking in order to deepen the Agile mindset in the organization.
  • Reinforce continuous innovation and a safe-to-fail environment where its okay to take chances, while also mitigating business-threatening risks.
  • Develop product managers and owners by helping to set the strategy for them and coaching them on the mechanics of being a great product manager.
  • Create new, exciting products based on sound business analysis and business plans.
  • Negotiate with key team members to develop a product investment priority in an environment with many challenging priorities.
  • Align product investment in Technology Services with the our corporate strategy.
  • Create and nurture strong relationships with product managers from other functions of F5s business.

About You

  • Tried senior leader with a track record of growing teams that deliver significant impact in high growth companies.
  • B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other technical degree, MBA is a plus
  • Provide 15+ years of experience in software product management, with demonstrated ability to attract, retain, build, grow and develop premier teams.
  • Experience in working with multiple geographies, including leading multiple teams
  • Experience leading or partnering with engineering and software development teams.
  • Be accomplished in working across multiple locations and geographies.
  • Leadership capabilities using an outcome centric product management approach, with clear impact to revenue, bottom line, and customer experience.
  • You establish special performance KPIs and manage a team to deliver it.
  • Experienced knowledge of market dynamics, customer segments, and technology trends.
  • Experience defining and launching new products and services.
  • You are skilled at operating in a complex, cross-functional organization or company where your teams need to collaborate and integrate with other teams across many disciplines.
  • Hands on experience in product-based delivery models, in organizations that have both product management and engineering disciplines.
  • Strategic product thinker - you can examine the changing landscape and use that information to define product strategy and prioritize the problems to solve.
  • Leadership on multiple well-known products throughout their life cycles, from idea conception to product release and maintenance.
  • Process Oriented - You have a well-defined product management process and you can run that process from start to finish from user research to product roadmaps and prototypes.
  • Technically proficient and able to work closely and get consensus from engineers.
  • Known to work directing a team of high-performing product managers.
  • Experience in SAFe, LeSS or other Agile scaling patterns, practices and methodologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that allows you to influence and encourage other teams, create clarity, and drive focus on complex problems.
  • Player Coach You can guide others in their work, and even better than you can do it yourself.
  • Deep expertise in Cloud and SaaS.
  • Ability to drive successful partnership across an ecosystem of providers.
  • You enjoy having a strategic impact at an executive level, including interacting with other leaders on intricate issues and applying excellent judgment and analysis toward important business decisions.
  • You create effective frameworks to aid discussion of complicated topics. You are naturally conscious of who needs to know what, and proactively seek to share important context accordingly.
  • You embrace pushing decision-making to the lowest levels in the organization.
  • You have been product manager of a broad variety of products.
