Job Description:

- Senior DBA with more than 5 years experience including Teradata V14 or higher.

- Support multiple Teradata systems including independent marts, development/uat, disaster recovery, and the enterprise warehouse.

- Manage/Monitor system performance, including workload management and throttling in TASM, query performance and tuning, physical node behavior, and amp distribution.

- Consult on physical database implementations, PPI, skew analysis, join methods, and data access paths.

- Work with Teradata GSC in resolving RDBMS related incidents.

- Implement and administer access policies in conjunction with corporate standards.

- Support Mainframe administrative functions including archive and tape processing.

- Manage, design, support, and consult on practices of storage management, archive, restore, and disaster recovery

Enterprise Role Overview:

Participates in design, development and implementation of complex databases, often using new technologies. Viewed as the subject matter expert for the team. Manages multiple, moderately complex projects and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities as a team member or as an individual contributor. Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants or managers. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. Work leadership may be provided by assigning work and resolving problems. Computer Science degree preferred or substantially equivalent experience. Typically 7-10 years of IT experience.

Required Skills:

-Advanced working knowledge of Teradata RDBMS at both physical and logical levels.

- Advanced working knowledge of Teradata suite of tools; TDWM, BTEQ, ARCMAIN, FASTOAD, MLOAD, TPUMP, DBQL, PDCR.

- Working knowledge of Mainframe interfaces and execution; TDP, JCL, TSO,ISPF, FICON, NDM.

- Working knowledge of Viewpoint and Teradata Data Mover

Desired Skills:

- Familiar with Teradata Systems setup, GDO, DBSControl, Multitool, etc.

- Teradata BAR technology, Taraserver, NPARC

- Replication technologies, Golden Gate.

- Understanding of LUX operating systems.

- Familiar with KSH, BASH, and PERL scripting.

- Familiar with REXX scripting.
