**Job Description:**

Senior Relationship Manager Middle Market Banking (Boston)

Our Commercial Banking Team - Middle Market segment - is seeking a Senior Relationship Manager to join our Boston Team. Middle Market serves public and private companies with annual revenues of $50 million to $2 billion. This particular role would have a focus on Financial Institutions.

The Relationship Manager (RM) is responsible for managing a portfolio of middle market relationships, advising on and delivering financial services and products to meet client needs. In addition to enhancing existing relationships, the RM is accountable for prospecting new business. The RM is the primary bank advocate and key financial advisor for the relationship, and needs to be able to engage in dialogue with CEO and CFO levels regarding the clients industry and alternative capital structures. The RM assesses the risks and impacts from both the clients and the banks perspective for the development and implementation of an overall client strategy. The RM must be well versed in all Bank of America Merrill Lynch products and services for the proper identification of cross-selling opportunities. The RM is also responsible for leading, directing and coordinating key team members in this analysis and execution, with the overall goal of effectively delivering appropriate products and services to clients and prospects.

*Position may be filled as a Sr. Relationship Manager or a Relationship Manager, depending on experience and qualifications.


+ Undergraduate degree required: Majors in business, finance or economics preferred. MBA desirable.

+ Series 7, 63 (Must obtain series 7 & 63 license within 180 days of start date.)

+ Ten+ years of experience in Commercial Lending.

+ Financial modeling experience and the completion of a formal credit training program.

+ Proven track record of prospecting new business and enhancing existing relationships.

+ A solid understanding of the principles of accounting and finance, and the ability to understand and interpret financial statements.

+ Ability to assess and analyze the financial condition of a middle market relationship and evaluate industry trends.

+ Outstanding oral and written communication skills.

+ Demonstrated leadership ability.

+ Ability to organize and lead a team of bank associates to manage client relationships, including the planning, execution and follow up of client meetings.


+ Existing knowledge of the market preferred.

+ Active member/participation in local community organizations.

+ Highly desirable to have active networking contacts and Centers of Influence established in local markets.
