As a Senior Database Engineer, you will be a member of the new product development team that supports the design and development of innovative products within the Surgical Innovations business.

SURGICAL INNOVATIONS sets the standard for Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) by creating innovative surgical products and services that focus on obesity and diseases and conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, lung, abdominal wall, pelvic region, and the head and neck.

A Day in the Life of a Senior Database Engineer:

  • Designs, implements, and tests databases for embedded medical device products
  • Owns database design and roadmap across multiple products
  • Optimizes solutions for reliability, efficiency and performance
  • Troubleshoots and identifies database issues
  • Creates documentation throughout the development process
  • Commits to achieving and exceeding project goals and timelines
  • Performs duties in compliance with the Quality System

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Database Administration, Database Management, or equivalent
  • 3+ years experience with database design in a Linux development environment
  • IoT data and storage management experience
  • Working knowledge of software development best practices
  • Experience with encryption and data protection
  • Experience with DDS
  • Component Based Modeling
  • Background in data science and analytics
  • Medical device experience
