Position Summary:

Under general direction of senior research staff in the Trauma and Resilience Center, conducts activities to support research projects. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Participates in data collection and data entry for research projects focused on trauma including brain injury, post-traumatic stress and/or toxic exposure.
  • Complies with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulations and codes.
  • Assists with maintenance of human subjects approvals and applications.
  • Conducts literature searches for senior research staff.
  • Coordinates all aspects of human subjects research including patient/subject recruitment and retention and obtaining informed consent.
  • Participates in and conducts data analysis activities including analysis of clinical, behavioral, neuropsychological and/or neuroimaging data.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Certification/Skills:

    • General knowledge of human subjects research.
    • Experience with PC computers and software including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and SPSS are also preferred.
    • Ability to interact with research subjects and/or patients of differing backgrounds.

    Minimum Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Neuroscience or an associated field or relevant experience in lieu of education.

    Minimum Experience:

    • One (1) year of related experience in a research or clinical lab environment.
    • May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.

    Physical Requirements:

    Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
    This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
