Job Description
Needed : An energetic, technology-loving "partnership person," driving technical collaboration between Bose and other companies in the technology and music industries to create new business opportunities for us and greater value for our customers.

For over 50 years, Bose has developed high-quality audio solutions that delight our customers by differentiating in the marketplace. Our Consumer Electronics Division (CED) leads the audio market with many product lines, including SoundLink wireless speakers and headphones, QuietComfort noise cancelling headphones, SoundTouchTM Multi-Room audio systems, Lifestyle Home Theater, Solo TV sound systems, Wave music systems, and SoundSport headphones.

The Consumer Electronics Product Partnerships team is responsible for identifying and partnering with industry-leading companies around the world to collaboratively create new products, create compelling user experiences, to enhance existing Bose products through partnership, and to generate new business opportunities for the company.

You will research and network with prospective technology partners and advise leaders and executives of both established business units and projects at the "fuzzy front end" of innovation. You will establish relationships with technology partners, negotiate and execute licensing and co-development deals, and manage ongoing relationships.

You will develop partnership strategies and align with business leaders and execute on them. You will become the point of contact between Bose and partners in the technology and music industries. You will work collaboratively with your colleagues in product management, marketing, finance, product development, advanced development and research to identify needs and opportunities for outside technologies to enhance Bose product experiences, and bring those to market.

The Product Partnerships Manager, Consumer Electronics is a high-energy person that uses superb communications and teamwork skills to work well with technical and non-technical colleagues inside Bose and technical and non-technical contacts at other companies. In the past, you will have had experience in business development, product management, strategy, management consulting, corporate development, engineering, or software development. Ideally, you will have had experience in several of those disciplines. Key to your success is your ability to marry creativity (seeing new questions, and imagining new approaches) with influencing skills (creating alignment at Bose and with other companies). Your best allies will be your abundant self-motivation, creativity, networking, strategic thinking, and intellectual curiosity.

Business Development Manager Responsibilities:

- Synthesize business goals, strategies, and visions into partnership opportunities

- Develop partnership strategies and align with business leaders

- Scout for and establish relationships with new partners

- Align partnership goals and specific projects with external partners and internal stakeholders

- Negotiate and execute licensing and co-development contracts

- Communicate regularly with current Bose partners and maintain healthy ongoing relationships

- Develop close relationships with Bose's business leaders, product management, marketing, advanced planning, and research teams to identify needs and opportunities for outside technologies to enhance Bose product experiences

- Coordinate partnership activities with colleagues in Sales and Marketing as partnership activities go to market

Other Requirements:
- Affinity for music/audio/video technologies and trends
- "Information junkie" that thrives on being the first to know about new technology
- Background in consumer electronics or related fields (engineering, science, acoustics, video, software, user experience design) strongly preferred
- Highly polished writing ability, very strong presentation and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to drive cohesion and collaboration among many different people & functions
- Strong understanding of motivations and incentives of all parties in negotiations, in order to drive actionable solutions

- Understanding of the work involved in product planning, development, and launch for both software and hardware consumer products
- Confidence, presence, and credibility to command the respect of colleagues and senior stakeholders, especially within Marketing, Engineering, Research, and Sales.
- Occasional-to-moderate travel (15-20% of time - mainly domestic, some international)

Education and Experience:

- 5+ years of related experience
- MBA is a strong plus

- Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline - engineering, science, or economics is a plus
