    • Reports to the Pharmacy Operational Manager. Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, performs various clerical and patient care duties. Responsibilities include coordinating the clinical and administrative workflow on a daily basis, maintaining close working communications with the Clinical Pharmacist on duty and with pharmacy administrators, and assuring that the Anticoagulation Clinic operates in accordance with regulatory requirements. Assists the Anticoagulation Clinical Pharmacist in support of medical care, answering the telephone, scheduling patient's appointment, and performing data entry.

    • Education and Experience
      • The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of an approved Medical Assistant Program or equivalent work experience with successful completion of the Certification Exam. Preference will be given to candidates with related medical office experience.
    • Knowledge & Skills
      • Demonstrates knowledge of and competency in performing patient care procedures, observations, treatment and techniques utilized in department.
      • Requires ability to perform venipuncture, and other clinical procedures as required by the department.
      • Requires knowledge of billing and office procedures, filing, data entry, and competency with a computer, calculator, photocopier, etc.
      • Demonstrates the interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) necessary to interact effectively with patients, visitors and coworkers in a professional, courteous and friendly manner.
      • Demonstrates analytical skills necessary to solve patient problems and interpret data.
      • Promotes collaboration and innovation in the clinical services to ensure an interdisciplinary approach to improving health care delivery and the quality of patient care.

    • Physical Demands
      • Requires the physical ability and stamina (i.e. to walk/stand for prolonged periods of time, push carts/wheelchairs up to 50 pounds, to position/lift patients at a maximum of 35 pounds unassisted, over 35 pounds requires assistance, provide CPR, etc.) to perform the essential functions of the position.
