We are seeking aMechanical Designerto play a significant role in our product development process, as we move products from concept development through the process to commercialization.

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Designer to support the growth of our engineering and design capabilities in the area of dispenser development in our Neenah, WI Innovation Institute.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will require the ideal candidate to possess knowledge of mechanical drafting and design principles, practices, and procedures to assist the design and development of new or improved products. Under the direction of Engineers, you will design and commercialize new products using SolidWorks design software and Adept PDM software. This candidate will be required to design and model plastic injection molded parts, along with parts from various other manufacturing practices.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Qualified candidates may possess an A.S or B.S. or Technical degree in Design or Drafting.

  • 3+ years of experience in design desired, but position is flexible to varying skill levels.

  • Related/equivalent work experience considered.

    KNOWLEDGE - SKILLS - ABILITIES:

  • Develop designs based on specifications and input from engineers in electrical and/or mechanical disciplines.

  • Review drawings for accuracy, material selection and finishes, proper manufacturing and assembly techniques, etc.

  • Knowledge of plastic part design and plastic molding strongly beneficial.

  • Maintain design files for design projects, designs will be loaded into and maintained in a PDM system. PDM system knowledge would be beneficial.

  • Other duties in support of Product Development, R&D may be assigned as resource needs require, such as 3D printing and prototype testing.

  • Assist significantly in the development of modeling, assembly and detailing practices and standards in the creation of designs and specification drawings.

  • Implementation and oversight of product data management software and techniques for control of drawings, assemblies, and models created within Design Control System.

  • In the conduct of drafting and design activities, completion of additional activities such as, but not limited to drawing checking, tolerance analysis, model analysis and parametric link control and compilation of drawings where parametric link integrity and revision control is maintained.
