Georgia-Pacific's Consumer Products division is seeking qualified professionals to consider for their Maintenance Manager opportunity for the Consumer Products Paper mill located in Zachary, LA.

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and guiding the business goals, plans, and processes for the maintenance department. Responsible for 5 direct reports, this leader will use knowledge to develop and carry out objectives, solve problems, and be able to respond to short-term as well as long term department mill goals.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

The successful candidate will provide leadership and direction to the maintenance department to ensure that the mill maintenance is meeting the objectives in safety, quality, cost and customer service. The candidate will lead and support preventative maintenance programs, and provide technical support for troubleshooting, to minimize downtime and maximize process efficiencies.

  • Safety Leadership -Accountable for the safety performance of the maintenance area while promoting personal accountability for working safely and addressing safety concerns in all areas of the mill.

  • Asset Maintenance Develop and implement maintenance and improvement strategies while managing within the allotted goals and budgets.

  • Help employees understand who their customers are and how their work directly impacts spending and mill profits/loses.

  • Business Leadership Ensure use of the Reliability Mental Model

  • Demonstrate results by working effectively with other mill leaders and resources to improve year over year results.

  • Meets regularly with direct reports, and other maintenance team members to increase knowledge and improve skills.

  • Business Culture Embrace the direction of the of the companys way of doing business and help continue to change the culture through tools, and processes available. (Market Based Management)

The ideal candidate will: Possess basic financial and statistical skills; will ensure environmental compliance; and have the ability to perform root cause analyses to find source of problems.

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or higher

  • 7 or more years of maintenance or engineering experience within an industrial management, manufacturing or production environment

  • 7 or more years of experience working within the maintenance field

  • 7 or more years of supervisory experience with responsibility for direct reports and a large hourly workforce

  • Experience using the following Microsoft Office Software: Excel (sorting data, creating tables and creating graphs); Outlook (scheduling tasks, calendar invitations and general professional correspondence); Word (document creation/editing); PowerPoint (presentation creation/editing); and Project (creating a project plan, adding tasks, resources and milestones)

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or higher in Engineering

  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

  • Previous experience working within a pulp & paper operation
