IT Training Specialist

Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for an IT Training Specialist in the Global Operations Center in Wheeling, WV.

Responsibilities:

In conjunction with the Chief Technology Officer, Director of IT Training, and other department staff, the IT Training Specialist will design and develop print and online courseware and other training materials, and conduct end user training and support for the firm. The IT Training Specialist will be expected to understand the firm technologies to an expert level, and act as liaison between IT and end users, often working closely with the IT staff in the practice offices, as well as Subject Matter Experts in the practice offices, and other project teams.

Qualifications:

This position requires a high school diploma; associate or bachelor's degree from recognized college or university, or seven to ten years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

• Significant experience with the development and delivery of training on IT systems in a large firm or legal environment
• Courseware and technical documentation writing skills
• Familiarity with Adobe Captivate or similar eLearning development tools (Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Lectora, and Adobe Creative Suite) and experience in the development of e-learning
• One-on-one and small group in-person training
• This individual must be able to work independently with excellent judgment
• Public relations and diplomacy must be excellent
• This employee must be extremely detail-oriented, highly accountable, and organized • Communication skills must be excellent
• Advanced technical skills on Microsoft Office including related applications such as Forte, Workshare Compare and NetDocuments
• Understanding of adult learning best practices
• Experience with web development tools and languages especially HTML
• Prior use of a learning management system such as UniversitySite, Litmos, Learn Live, viLMS, or Blackboard a plus
• Basic knowledge of SCORM, AICC and/or xAPI (TinCan) conformant development for courseware
• Experience with audio and video recording, editing and production a plus
• Relevant certifications (MCT, CTT+, MOS) a plus
• Some travel (estimated 20%) in support of training initiatives is required
