thyssenKrupp Elevator Americas is currently seeking an experienced IT Manager -Manufacturing Applications in Germantown, TN.

thyssenkrupp Elevator Corporation is seeking an IT Manager for its manufacturing and logistics applications. This position is based in the Germantown, TN office but will require a significant presence at the Manufacturing Center (MC) in Middleton, TN. The primary responsibility of this position is to lead the IT support team for manufacturing and logistics functions for the MC. This manager will work cross-functionally with all levels of the organization to build strong business relationships. This manager will lead teams in gathering business requirements and oversee the design, development and delivery of IT solutions that enable continuous business improvements. This role will also require significant participation in ongoing major process and system modernization programs.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensures that systems and applications are highly available and functional to support business needs.
  • Responsible for the team's timely response to break/fix issues or incidents
  • Proposes solutions that enable business processes and drive continuous improvements for manufacturing, logistics and other critical functions across the value stream
  • Manage multiple priorities by leading support of existing IT and business functions while contributing to major transformational programs
  • Plans, directs and monitors activities of staff regarding innovation, documentation and creation of intellectual property.
  • Drives the team to achieve goals on the strategic roadmap and multi-year plan for the business
  • Identifies, plans and manages IT projects from the initiation/approval phase through implementation and support phases
  • Oversees systems' performance including the integration of newly implemented systems with existing systems
  • Manage and develop current IT personnel plus hiring and training of additional IT staff as needed
  • Develop standard operating procedures and best practices, including providing written protocols, specifications and training materials to internal IT staff, external service providers, end-users and clients
  • Oversees or performs systems' maintenance, updates and upgrades as required
  • Evaluates and recommends IS hardware and software solutions that maximize productivity and meet thyssenkrupp's current and future objectives
  • Manages performance of third-party software and service providers according to contractual obligations
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business or related field required
  • Ten or more years' experience in Information Technology or a related field with five years of experience in a supervisory/leadership role
  • Seven or more years of progressive IT experience with demonstrated success in a solution development and/or business analyst role
  • Strong experience leading support and enhancements of ERP applications in a manufacturing/logistics environment
  • Solid understanding of the integration of ERP applications with manufacturing execution and warehouse management systems
  • Experience with the delivery of solutions and application development using Agile principles is a plus
  • Experience with the delivery of solutions and application support based on IT Service Management/ITIL principles
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of technical staff members located in multiple facilities
  • Significant experience managing relationships, SLAs and deliverables with third-party software and service providers
  • Ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization and confidently interact with senior leadership
  • Experience developing and delivering solutions to enable lean manufacturing processes
  • Must have the ability to multi-task by balancing multiple projects at any given time
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and evaluative skills
  • Requires effective time management, project management and organizational change management abilities
  • Solid written and oral communication skills are essential for the role
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
  • Proven ability to take initiative and anticipate business needs while working independently
