Reporting to the Global Asset Management Director, lead the global capital project execution and budget management for the Industrial Segment Coatings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Business Process Owner for the Capital Project Execution Process including
Stages and Deliverables
Gatekeeper Matrix
PPG Cost Estimate Quality Bases
Top quartile execution versus IPA standards (Independent Project Analysis)
Necessary staffing and resourcing of all projects
  • Define and own Capital Project approval process and approver matrix for each stage of a project.
  • Work with regional leaders, plant engineering teams and other functions in the industrial segment to provide an up to date analysis of how active projects are progressing against stage deliverables, spending curves and timing.
  • With IS Engineering leader, maintain an overall capital project list including prioritization of 'next up' projects.
  • Provide regular reporting of project execution including
Spending versus planned spending curves
Project execution scope versus actual
Key Risks and Mitigations
  • Maintain necessary relationships in PPG Finance and key third party service providers to track project execution and spending effectively.

Experience & Education

  • Bachelors of Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical)
  • 10+ years' experience in chemical manufacturing with experience in, manufacturing operations, capital project execution, process development and/or new product introduction
  • Have lead multiple major capital projects in multiple geographic regions
  • Fluent in FEL project process, Capital Estimate cost quality, and over project stage deliverables.
  • Experience in batch and continuous operations preferred.
  • Familiar with the assessments, KPIs associated with, and improvement plans derived from IPA
  • Fluent in DMAIC/DFSS project execution
