The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is one of the 12 regional Reserve Banks that, together with the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., make up the Federal Reserve System. Job Summary:

Under minimum supervision, performs quantitative and qualitative analyses to support the Bank's Economic Growth and Mobility Project (EGMP). Identifies, collects, and organizes data required for department research projects in workforce development, equitable growth, and infrastructure equity. Identifies methodologies for understanding barriers to mobility in a geographic region, including conducting surveys and evaluating impact of EGMP projects. Communicates with stakeholders from private, public, and philanthropic sector about best practices in the field. Works with team to translate research into actionable policy through training events, publications, and presentations aimed at educating and informing stakeholders about community development and economic mobility.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Conducts quantitative and qualitative analysis pertaining to economic mobility issues. Keeps abreast of best practices and pressing topics pertaining to equitable growth, infrastructure equity, workforce development, and the overall economy. Reviews literature on research topics and may contact others doing similar research. Determines what information is relevant to the project and provides department researchers and management with summaries of findings, both orally and in writing. Uses this information to educate internal and external stakeholders on key community development issues.

Identifies opportunities to bring research to bear on practice regarding Economic Growth & Mobility. Works with EGMP Director and Community Development team to identify data sources and methodology for projects that support Research in Action labs. Manages qualitative and quantitative research projects on particular topics of economic mobility in a geographic area. Collaborates with other members of the Community Development team to utilize data sources and research expertise to further the economic mobility conversation. Facilitates listening sessions and surveys of community stakeholders to identify barriers to economic mobility and evaluate impacts.

R epresents the Economic Growth and Mobility Project at conferences, system events and subgroups of council meetings. Supports in the logistics of planning for events. Contributes to communications plan for EGMP with visual presentations or creating materials to support findings of Research in Action Labs.

Develops subject matter expertise on particular equity areas within EGMP pillars (e.g., small business growth, job quality, broadband access, digital skills). Maintains knowledge of public/private partnerships, community development finance models, and equitable development projects to support Economic Mobility in the Third District and nationally. Keeps abreast of these topics through research and application, of a dynamic body of regulations, agency attitudes, and industry activities. Educates key stakeholders from the industry and Federal Reserve System on strategies for addressing economic mobility, including conducting workshops.

Works individually or in a group to identify, communicate, and implement changes and initiatives with the goal of improving the quality of the operation or product.

Fulfills job duties and responsibilities in conformance with sound safety practices.

Actively involved in the accomplishment of departmental and Bank-wide initiatives.

Performs other duties as assigned.
