Your day to day



Leadership of Americas Operations communications, with a focus on results-driven, measurable communications that drive awareness, action, understanding and engagement and enable delivery of strategic priorities across AMER. Innovative and can-do mindset to building best-in-class Operations communications and practices.



Key Accountabilities



  • Lead operations communications for AMER region and business partner with COO and Leadership Team.

  • Role includes planning and executing town hall/all-hands meetings, creating content for senior leader engagement, innovating and managing effective communications channels and engaging content

  • Accountable for designing and delivering AMER hotel communications plans to delivery of key projects, with a focus on Operations, Growth & Strategy and Revenue Management.

  • Partnering with communications teams in AMER, EMEAA and GC to ensure execution against global plans through regional channels as well as to drive visibility of progress of AMER Operations centered programs across IHG.

  • Crisis and issues management as this relates to AMER hotel/operations

  • Lead reporting, performance data and analytics to measure ROI

  • Budget and agency management and overseeing key supplier relationships

  • Enhancing the hotel communications channel, known today as Hotel Bulletin, to better support the needs of hotels and owners.

  • Play active role in developing and enhancing AMER owner communications strategy and execution, in partnership with GCA colleagues.

  • Responsible for lead AMER role on Hotel Operations Ways of Working 2.0 global workstream

  • Management and development of Operations Communications Manager direct report

  • Development of executive talking points for COO and other leaders as required

What we need from you



Education



  • Bachelor's or masters degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

Experience



  • 10+ years progressive work experience in communications with broad experience across a range of communications disciplines (in-house or agency).

  • Experience in building and leading highly effective globally dispersed teams to achieve challenging agendas

Technical Skills and Knowledge



  • Strong business acumen and knowledge

  • Strong networking skills including external partnering

  • Brings current knowledge, insight and innovation using external and industry best practice

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with proven ability to advise and influence senior leaders and decision makers.

  • Ability to think strategically and deliver initiatives successfully

  • Deep understanding of internal communications, engagement and story telling

  • Strong creative thinker who has a track record of developing innovative communications programs and campaigns

Decision Rights



Owns:



  • Operations Communications for assigned functions

  • Global Hotel Communications plans for assigned functions.

  • Prioritization of operations, hotel comms across AMER region to include the calendar

  • Communication planning and execution

  • Development of compelling communication deliverables

  • Management and development of Operations Manager direct report

  • All business-related event planning, communications and content development and execution

  • Development of all executive talking points for COO and other leaders as required

  • Budgets

  • Agency roster

  • Oversee/ manage Hotel Bulletin (AMER)

  • Identifying channel improvements

  • Oversee/ manage Operations Communications channels, i.e. EmailOpen (AMER)

  • Content support

  • Work with internal stakeholders on communication strategies, i.e. owner, hotel, internal support colleagues (AMER)

  • Not limited to actionable content suggestions, discussing impact, identifying internal support teams to execute

  • Supporting COO and members of AOLT (includes MLAC)
