Job Description:

The Data Center Technician is responsible for independently performing operational and preventive maintenance tasks on all critical environment infrastructure at mission critical data center(s) at client location(s).

Essential Job Duties:

  • Independently perform operational and preventive maintenance tasks on all critical environment infrastructure as assigned.
  • Respond and close service requests from customers within service level.
  • Operate critical environment infrastructure in accordance with approved procedures and equipment manuals.
  • Provide assistance and support to vendor service teams while supervising their activities and ensuring they perform within strict safety and risk mitigating regulations.
  • Perform daily rounds though out the entire facility to log readings, carry out visual inspections on all equipment, rooms and systems.
  • Write daily shift reports including on-going equipment maintenance work, prepare turnover for the incoming shift.
  • Assist management in the process of incident management as well as root cause analysis.
  • Be the first response when an incident occurs, escalate according to established protocols and work on ground under the supervision and coordination of the emergency response team
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Skills, Education, and Experience:
  • High school diploma and some formalized OEM equipment training OR Trade school degree
  • O&M equipment certifications AND 2-5 years of Critical Environments O&M experience.
  • Requires basic knowledge of maintenance fundamentals.
  • Must be able to follow electrical wiring and mechanical system diagrams to assist with troubleshooting and to understand operational impacts of actions.
  • Must be physically able to perform basic maintenance tasks to the highest caliber, which includes ability to: climb ladders, work in confined spaces, lift heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., etc.
  • Must be able to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • May be required to use a variety of hand and power tools or forklift.
  • Must have reliable transportation available
  • Must be a team player committed to working in a quality environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Computer system literate (BMS, CMMS, Microsoft Office, etc.)

Benefits/perks listed may vary depending on the nature of your employment with Newmark Knight Frank and the job location

Working Conditions: Normal working conditions with the absence of disagreeable elements. Shifts are single person coverage of 12.5 hours per shift. Shifts switch from Day to Night on a monthly basis and rotate between 3 and 4 days per week. Overtime is paid after 40 hours per week and for holidays.
