Description

Responsible for the rework process for acoustical tooling returned by customers for servicing and the tooling inspection process for all acoustic tools.

Responsibilities
  1. Evaluate the performance of all new ultrasonic horns manufactured
  • Verify proper tuning, amplitude output, and uniformity
  • Record results on the Tooling Inspection Reports (TIR)
  • Upload TIR to Docuware system.
  • Work with engineering and manufacturing to resolve any tooling performance issue
  • Evaluate returned tooling through appropriate testing
    • Verify proper tuning, amplitude output, and uniformity
    • Inspect the physical condition of the tool for signs of damage
    • Identify and quote rework needed
      • Contact vendors for price and lead time as required
      • Estimate rework costs
      • Inform customer and Sales of the evaluation results
      • Provide customer with tooling quotes for rework
    • In case of tooling failure, provide engineering with findings for corrective action
      • Make financial decisions about warranty coverage of returned tooling. Financial decisions above $1000 or with high risk are to be reviewed by management.
  • Processing of rework purchase orders in AS400
    • Enter rework order in AS400 and coordinate with Planning for appropriate scheduling
    • Checkout rework tooling prior to shipment. Perform part fit or coordinate tooling checkout as required with Applications group.
    • Work with Credit Department as required for release of held orders
    • Monitor rework order status during backlog meetings to ensure on time delivery
    • Address customer inquiries concerning rework order status or expediting
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager


  • Requirements
    High School/Technical School diploma required. Associates Degree preferred. Good verbal and written communication skills required due to direct contact with customers, field force and vendors. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be physically capable of transporting materials and tools weighing up to 50 pounds.
