Moog Aircraft Group is looking for an Aerospace Assembler Technician to join our Assembly and Test team. In this role, you will perform precision assembly on complex production and repair actuators. Here's what you'll be working on:

  • Perform precision assembly on complex production and repair actuators.
  • Adjust or align through shimming and other means of mechanical adjustments specified by blueprint or other specification limits.
  • Utilize a variety of mechanical measuring equipment such as: Dial indicators, calipers and indicating micrometers to obtain proper assembly-build requirements.
  • Maintain dimensional accuracy on assemblies utilizing torque wrenches, fixtures, tooling, gages and other measuring devices. Required to work from assembly instructions, both written and oral.
  • Perform various test operations on production or repair mechanical or hydraulic actuators using necessary hydraulic, mechanical and electronic test equipment, fixtures and tools.
  • Diagnose common test failures and recommends or performs rework to' correct discrepancies.
  • Hold problem units for engineering disposition.
  • Ensure that units are set up and tested in conformance with current revision letters and brings to the Supervisor's attention any condition that is abnormal.
  • Responsible for testing repair models for conformance to acceptance test procedures.
  • Utilize mechanical or electronic measuring equipment, and perform tests to validate the acceptance of the model to current test requirements.
  • Order parts as necessary utilizing the RUR and WDS systems. Responsible for proper documentation of parts replaced and work performed on data sheets
Basic (Minimum) Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year of Assembly experience (mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical or electronic)
  • Due to federal contract obligations, must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)
  • FAA Safety Sensitive position; must meet FAA's drug and alcohol testing program requirements

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • Assembly experience in the Aerospace industry
  • Experience performing precision assembly and test of hydraulic, mechanical and electromechanical flight actuators
  • Experience with precision measuring equipment such as dial indicators, calipers and micrometers
  • Experience with diagnosing/troubleshooting mechanical components and test failures.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to learn quickly, work well under pressure, and lead others to do the same
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer program skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification is a plus
